[You pick up some things here and there after being around the block a few (dozen) times, including how to properly shake hands like a functioning adult lest he get harassed about a lack of proper manners. There's only about 2 seconds worth of staring at Pyrrha's outstretched hand - as opposed to his usual five - before he's reaching out and taking it in a firm grip. (He is still sighing inwardly though, that hasn't changed.)]
Shinjiro.
[Pyrrha the miracle worker, able to collect both a handshake and a name.]
[ She releases his hand promptly, her own falling behind her back in an attentive clasp. Shinjiro may not want it, but he has her full attention for the time being. ]
Yeah, I imagine so.
[ That's different from being prepared, but at least she's still armed. ]
What I was told by CERES and what others have been telling me are a bit different.
[That's something at least, and more than most are given (or are willing to accept). Another quick once-over, in combination with her actions from earlier, have him feeling reassured that she'll manage on her own just fine and he nods, taking a step backward and signalling his intentions to leave.]
Don't know how long we're here for, but it's better to keep your eyes and ears open.
[Advice she's probably well aware of but still worth repeating.]
[ She’ll follow, at least for the time being. For as long as he’s willing to talk, she’s willing to listen. Grateful for the advice, Pyrrha’s steps are steady and unassuming, an appropriate prelude for her quiet, her general unwillingness to take the help for granted. ]
[He won't dissuade her from following, even if he makes no move to slow down or match his pace from hers. (She doesn't seem to have any trouble keeping up, in any case.)]
About two months. [Give or take a week - he's never paid much attention to exact dates, but thereabouts seems right.] Other people have been here longer though, and no one knows if we'll ever get to leave.
[ No trouble at all. In fact, having a few inches on him in height, Pyrrha’s strides could outpace his if she truly felt like it. His words tell her a few things. One, arrivals are staggered, with people arriving in small batches over a longer period of time. Secondly, there’s no way to negotiate for a release, no outside force to appeal for it. ]
So everyone who arrived with you is still present?
[Pyrrha's concision and (current) gravitas earn her a few extra respect points, enough that Shinjiro doesn't make any move to cut the conversation short or start searching for escape routes. She's clearly smart and focused, and it's quite possible that she's picked up something from her short stay that he's missed.]
No. People disappear all the time, but no one knows how or why.

You already got the explanation about this place?

Yeah, I imagine so.

[If there's even anywhere left for them to go.]
